Thank you to all of our students and families for your enthusiastic engagement with the school community this week. The spirit week was a lot of fun, we enjoyed seeing everyone dressed up and participating. Lunch clubs have started up and we are enjoying seeing students make those connections.

Please see below for the weekly message.

Lockdown Practice

Today we held our first practice lockdown drill. Calgary Police Services were onsite to support and provide feedback to staff and students about safety in an emergency situation. The officers were very impressed with student behavior and preparation. Thank you to all of our students for doing such a great job.

School Conferences

School Conferences are next week at Harold Panabaker. On Thursday, conferences will be in-person from 5:00-8:00 PM in the school gym. On Friday, conferences will be online from 8:30 AM-1:00 PM.

Conference booking opens to families on Saturday, September 19 at 9:00 AM. You can book conferences through your My CBE App. Link to instructions here. Your child has different teacher for different subject courses. Please make sure to check their timetable on PowerSchool and book individually with those teachers you want to see.

This is a meet the teacher evening. Please come prepared to discuss your child's learning needs and share information about them. At this stage in the year, teachers have not completed many assessment activities, so please take this as an opportunity to get to know your child's teachers rather than an assessment of how your child is doing.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Drama Production Auditions

The drama club is beginning auditions for our fall production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. There are many different exciting roles and opportunities to support backstage. Auditions are September 29 and October 1.

Remembrance Day

As we plan for our Remembrance Day Assembly, we are interested in including families. If you have a family member who has served in the military and is interested in sharing their stories with our school community, please reach out to Ms. Fenwick (cjfenwick@cbe.ab.ca). We would be honoured to include their stories in our assembly.
