Week of September 11
We had a great first week of regular classes with our students. It has been exciting to watch the students feeling more confident and comfortable in the classrooms. Our cross country team has begun training and basketball tryouts begin next week. We also have several student lunch clubs which will be starting over the next weeks. Please encourage your children to try out a few activities. They are a great opportunity to make friends and explore new interests.

School Council Meeting
Our first school council meeting is on Wednesday, September 20th. The school council will be hosting a meet and greet at 6:30pm and the meeting will begin formally at 7:00pm. They will be having a draw for some Harold Panabaker hoodies. Joining school council is a wonderful way to become involved with the school. All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.
Cell Phone Policy
In order to ensure a focused learning environment, cell phones are to be used before school, during lunch and after school. Cell phones must be kept off and in backpacks/lockers if students choose to bring them to school. Bluetooth headphones must also be kept in backpacks and lockers, unless student has been given clear permission from their supervising teacher.
Consequences for using cell phone or bluetooth headphones during class time without permission:
1. First time, device(s) will be kept in the office until the end of the day.
2. Second time, a conversation will be held between home and school. Parents will have to come to school to pick up the device(s).
3. Students will not be allowed to have the cell phone at school for 30 days.
If you need to contact your student during the school day, please call the office and we will connect you with them.
Parking Reminders
Parents, we need your assistance in keeping all our children safe. Please choose safety over convenience. It is not safe to drop children off in the staff parking lot or in the bus zone (directly in front of the school). Please drop off and pick up your child(ren) on the east side of Sackville Drive or along the school field. Having a plan identifying an area for the student(s) to be picked up further away from the building will help keep students safe.
Please be courteous of the residents of Sackville Drive. Ensure that you are not blocking driveways while you are waiting to pick up your children. Please note that u-turns are illegal in school zones. We are all a part of the community and hope to have a positive relationship with our neighbours.
