Family Dance and School Council
We wanted to thank all of the families who joined us at the Halloween Family Dance last night. It was a beautiful opportunity to build community. Thank you to the School Council and volunteers for supporting the evening. Students had exciting energy and enthusiasm for the day. We enjoyed seeing everyone’s costumes.
The next School Council meeting is on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00. All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend.
Halloween
Halloween is coming up on Tuesday this week. Our leadership class has prepared a variety of exciting activities including a costume contest and lunchtime activities on Tuesday. There will also be a bake sale on Tuesday and Wednesday ($1/treat) with the proceedings donated to a local charity. We look forward to celebrating with our students. Thank you to the grade seven students for all of their hard work!
An important note on costumes: Costumes must be comfortable and appropriate for students to wear during classes. This means that they must be able to sit and move around in the costume. It must also align with the school dress code. No weapons (toys included) are permitted on school property. Masks are not to be worn in hallways or classes. Students are allowed to bring masks and large costumes to school for the costume contest but must remove their masks and change if their costume does not work for the classroom environment.
Food Drive
We are accepting donations of canned food and dry goods to support the Veteran’s Food Bank. If you are able, please bring your donations to school before Nov 9, 2023. We appreciate your support.
Physical Education
- Students in grade 7-9 are expected to bring extra clothes for gym and change daily.
 - Indoor module (running shoes, black shorts or athletic pants, maroon/black/grey t-shirt or long sleeve, lock)
 - Outdoor module (running shoes, lock, weather dependent: black shorts or athletic pants, maroon/black/grey t-shirt, hoodie, jacket, gloves, and water bottle). Colder weather is coming this week! Students are reminded to bring warmer active clothing when they’re outside. The outside module this week is Ultimate Frisbee. If possible, it would be a good idea to bring warm active layers of clothing, and a hat and gloves if you think you will need them!

****Please contact Mrs. Broks (tjbroks@cbe.ab.ca) if your child is unable to bring extra clothes for PE class and we can help provide clothing/shoes.
