Staffing Update 

We are very excited to announce the new teacher for the grade eight class, Ms. Emma Cooke. Ms. Cooke has been team teaching with Mrs. Carmen Hansen teaching Gr. 7 English Language Arts and Social Studies and Drama since September. She is familiar with our school and students.  Emma will be teaching grade eight English, Social Studies, and Phys Ed. Ms. Cooke brings a passion for literacy to her classroom. She is an avid reader and encourages others to find their own joys in reading. Emma has contributed very positively to our school community this year. Her interest in student mental health and wellbeing is evident in the events she has planned. The staff at Harold Panabaker are all very happy to be working with Ms. Cooke this year. She is excited to build more relationships with students in her new classes. 

Our new grade eight classes will begin on Wednesday, December 6. Ms. Cooke will be shadowing the grade eight classes on Monday and Tuesday to get to know the students.  

Basketball 

Basketball season has concluded! Thank you to all of our coaches, players, and parents. We enjoyed the community spirit at all of our games. Congratulations to all of the students who worked hard and developed their skills. Your perseverance is admirable.  

Special congratulations to our Junior Boys Basketball Team who won their Divisional Championship on Wednesday. The team has been undefeated in their regular season play. Congratulations Panthers! 

School Council T-Shirt Contest 

School Council is having a t-shirt design contest for Pink Shirt Day. Design a t-shirt with positive messages. Students can submit designs to the office by December 15. The winning design will be printed on t-shirts which will be available to order in the new year.
