Dear Families,
Thank you to all of the students involved in our concert last night. Our musicians, actors, MCs, and volunteers did a wonderful job of creating a fun and festive atmosphere. Thank you to the teachers who worked so hard to prepare for the evening and to all those who supported the evening. We are grateful to all of the families who joined to celebrate with us.
Winter Solstice
On Thursday, December 18, we are inviting students to gather for smudging to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Staff and students will be gathering in Room 25 at 12:40 and we will go outside together, weather permitting. Students who identify as Indigenous do not need to complete any paperwork to participate. Students who do not identify as Indigenous are welcome to join us, however, they do need to complete a permission form to participate in smudging. These forms are available in Ms. Roach’s office if you are interested.
Last Day of School Activities
The last day of school will be pyjama day! While everyone is feeling cozy, students will have a chance to have some fun with their friends. This week students signed up for one of the following for Friday, December 19: Dance, Computer Lab, Games, or one of three movies.
Locker Clean-Out
Please remind your child to bring all personal belongings home over the break. Depending on the student, they may need to do this over a couple of days. Teachers will be supporting them with a locker clean out on Thursday.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is folded and on display in the front foyer. There are many items in it. Please encourage your child to take a look and see if any of their belongings are there.
Volleyball Try-outs
This is a very important message for all students interested in Volleyball tryouts. Please make sure you have your forms handed in BEFORE the winter break. Our first Senior Girls’ try-out is on Monday, January 5th before school. If you need another form, please see Ms. Pearson as soon as possible.
Bake Sale
There will be a bake sale on Tuesday, December 16 at nutrition break. There are many delicious options available!
