Dear Families,

Now we are into the last week of the school year. It is going to be a good one. Our teachers and students have been working hard and we are excited to celebrate the end of the school year together.

Library and Textbook Return

Library books must be returned before Friday, June 26. Library books that are not returned will have lost library book fees added to student accounts.

Textbooks must be returned before Tuesday, June 23, textbooks that are not returned will have lost textbook fees added to student accounts.

 Spirit Week

Our Leadership Classes have planned a spirit week for the last week of the year. Monday is Mathlete or Athlete – dress as a stereotypical nerd or athlete. Tuesday is Grade Colours (grade 5 is red/pink, grade 6 is orange/yellow, grade 7 is green, grade 8 is purple, grade nine is blue). Wednesday is Formal Day, Thursday is Pajama Day, Friday is Beach Day.

Farewell and Awards Assemblies

Our grade nine students have more work to be doing for their final two Provincial Achievement Tests on Monday and Tuesday, before we celebrate with them at Heritage Park for their farewell on Tuesday night. We know that our grade nine students are ready for the exciting next steps of high school and we are privileged to have been a part of their journey. We look forward to welcoming families to our awards and farewell assembly on Wednesday, June 24 from 11:00-12:40. Awards for students in grades five-eight will be held on Wednesday, June 24 in the afternoon from 2:15-3:30.

Grades Five and Six Field Trip

Our grade five and six students are heading to the zoo on Monday. Thank you to all of the volunteers who help to make trips like this possible.

National Indigenous Peoples’ Day Activity Afternoon

This year, National Indigenous Peoples’ day falls on a Sunday. We will be recognizing the day on Thursday, June 25 in the afternoon. Students have signed up for activities of their choice and we look forward to enjoying the day together.

Sports Day

On the last day of school, Friday, June 26, we will be having sports day. Please make sure that students have a water bottle and are prepared to be outside, with sunscreen, hats, a raincoat if necessary. This is a fun tradition for us to wrap up the school year together.
