Personal Mobile Devices Reminders
Thank you for your support with the new personal mobile devices policy. Our students are doing well with the adjustment, with minor reminders. Please remind your students that personal mobile devices are to be put away at all times when inside the school.
School Council
Our first School Council Meeting is on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Parent Council is a great way to meet other families, learn about the school, and support students. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a draw for a Panabaker Hoodie.
We hope to see you there.
Picture Day
School Pictures will take place on Monday, September 9th. Please dress in something that makes you feel confident and remember to bring your smile to school! Photo retakes will be on October 16.

Basketball Tryouts
Panther Basketball will be starting the week of Sept 9 – 13. Please see below the tryout schedule for that week. A reminder, students must have their Annual Athletic Tryout Form signed by parent/guardian (and checked off for which sports they will participate in for the year) before they are able to try out for any team. The Annual Athletic Tryout From was distributed in the PE class. Students are also encouraged to routinely check the Athletics Board outside the PE office for updates throughout the tryout and regular season.
Panthers Basketball Starting Sept 9th week:
**Senior Teams: grades 8-9 can try out for.
- Grade 8’s can try out for either team (Jr or Sr). Grade eight students who would like to try out for the senior team should attend the tryouts. They can also try out for the junior team if they don’t make the senior team.
**Junior Teams: grades 6-8 can try out.
If you are unable to make a tryout, but would like to be considered for the team, please let your coach know.
Clubs at Panabaker
We have a variety of clubs at Harold Panabaker during lunchtime to help students connect with our community. Club activities are ongoing and change throughout the year. The following clubs are starting up next week:
- Running Club: Tuesdays at 12:39 p.m. meet in the portables
- Chess, Board Game and Cards Club: Wednesday at 12:50 p.m. in Room 9
- Knitting Club: Tuesdays at 12:50 p.m. in room 23
- Chess, Board Game and Cards Club, Wednesdays at 12:50pm in Room 9, all grades welcome
Traffic Reminders
Parents, we need your assistance in keeping all our children safe. Please choose safety over convenience. It is not safe to drop children off in the staff parking lot or in the bus zone (directly in front of the school). Please drop off and pick up your child(ren) on the east side of Sackville Drive or along the school field. Having a plan identifying an area for the student(s) to be picked up further away from the building will help keep students safe. Please encourage your child(ren) not to jaywalk when crossing the road, especially between school buses.
Please be courteous of the residents of Sackville Drive. Ensure that you are not blocking driveways while you are waiting to pick up your children. Please note that u-turns are illegal in school zones. We are all a part of the community and hope to have a positive relationship with our neighbours.
