Week of February 26-March 1

Staffing Update

Congratulations to Ms. Vicky Law, who has accepted a position as the System Mandarin Learning Leader. Ms. Law will be working half-time in her new role and continuing to work at Harold Panabaker for the other time. We have hired Ms. Peng Zhang, who had a temporary contract at Harold Panabaker last year, to support the grade five and six team.

Community Engagement Meeting

Please save the date for a special community engagement meeting on March 20 beginning at 6:30. This is a chance for all families to connect and share their ideas for future planning with the school. It will take place before our parent council meeting. In the spirit of building community, we will be having a potluck. There will also be door prizes available. Come out to learn more about next year planning, connect with other families, and make your voice heard.

Parent Council Casino Update

Thank you so much to the families who have volunteered for the casino on March 11 and 12.

As of now, 2/3 of the spots are filled. More volunteers are needed.

If you are able to volunteer, please consider doing so. You do not need to have a valid police check for the positions to be filled and a meal is provided by the Casino. All training is provided during your shift. Volunteers are essential to making this event a success. Please see the sign-up link below.

School Casinos are the most significant source of revenue for the School Council. School Council uses funds from Casinos to support student learning and extracurricular activities. This may look like learning materials, such as laptops for the students, books for the library, equipment and materials for our science labs, or new machinery in our construction, design, and food options. School council supports school experiences by contributing funds to subsidize field trips and the grade nine farewell. This is a very important fundraiser for the school community, which benefits all students.
